We Got Who? Your 2009 NBA Depth Charts.
It’s a new NBA season. Like every year, I wonder where certain players have landed in the league. Rosters change drastically every season and for me it’s fun to figure out where everyone went. So, like a sports dork, I went through every roster and made some interesting findings. Based on that, I now give what I think are worthy storylines from the 2009 NBA rosters.
The Boston Celtics have a new bench this season consisting of Rasheed Wallace, Marquise Daniels and Candace Parker’s baby daddy Shelden Williams. Thats pretty solid for the NBA champs from two years ago.
Portland has three point guards on their bench behind the starter Steve Blake. Andre Miller, Jerryd Bayless and rookie Patty Mills. That’s great depth on paper.
Another solid point guard crew is in Memphis where the Grizzlies have Mike Conley, Marcus Williams and some old guy named Allen Iverson. Unfortunately this still wont get them out of the gutter.
In Detroit, Ben Gordon is now on the Pistons, but is not starting. Interestingly enough on the same team will be starters Charlie Villanueva and Kwame Brown. Hmm.
The Spurs are old, and they got even older this offseason by adding Antonio Mcdyess. They’ll still be a top four seed and contend.
The Cavs acquired Coby Karl, son of George Karl in the offseason. Apparently they lost a bet.
Yes, Adonal Foyle out of Colgate is still in the league. He is now with Orlando.
With all of that said, the reigning NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers have basically the same roster as last year. Only one change. Ron Artest replaces Trevor Ariza. That’s it. That’s an upgrade and they will be NBA champs again.
Lakers v Celtics. Lakers in six. Cue some trendy 80′s song.
