The Weekly: Really? (NFL “Professionals”, Physics, and Nascar)
Really, so called National Football League “professionals”? Richard Seymour (DE-Raiders), Steve Johnson (WR-Bills), Le’ron McClain (RB-Ravens), and Brandon Marshall (WR-Dolphins) all reserve the right to be called professional athletes, but apparently they also reserve the right to lower the “professional” standard. Quick look at what happens when other sports have practiced lowering the standard: Following a Ben Roethlisberger 22-yard TD pass, Seymour sought it necessary to cold-cock Roethlisberger in the face. After the game, Seymour [...]

Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach
Well, look at that! Someone else outside of Team Penske won the race! Finally some of my prayers have been answered (still waiting on the Powerball win). Not only was it a non Penske driver, but it was Ryan Hunter-Reay from Andretti Autosport! Yes, the same Ryan that figuratively and literally carries the IZOD series sponsorship. The IZOD IndyCar series couldn’t have written this outcome any better. The racing at the 2010 Toyota Grand Prix [...]

Beautiful Indy Grand Prix of Alabama
The 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series Barber Race was a very good-looking race. In fact, if you were flipping back and forth between the Masters and the race, there wasn’t much of a difference in the scenery. Barber is that beautiful and I think is a great addition to the IICS lineup. However, the action on the track was what we have come to expect on these road courses. It wasn’t a complete bore but it [...]

Will Power Dominating IZOD IndyCar Series
I thought this street racing stuff was supposed to be boring? The second race of the IZOD IndyCar Series was anything but that. I even watched this race twice, if you count sneaking the live indycar.com race feed during work Monday morning as a viewing. (sorry boss). We are now 2 for 2 for good races in the 2010 IZOD IndyCar season. St. Pete was another fast and furious (minus Van Diesel) race with a lot [...]

Sao Paulo Indy 300 – Race Recap
Now, THAT was a race! I can honestly say that was the first street (go ahead and throw road in there as well) course race that I actually enjoyed. I think it was a combination of many factors that resulted in the awesome outcome. There was all of the craziness such as the Sambadrome, a small hurricane and a first lap melee. Add in the flat-out extreme and intense racing and the result was a [...]

It's Time to Go Racing
After a year of reading the great blog work posted by George Phillips at Oilpressure.com, I felt motivated to get in on the action. Topic for my virgin post; the IZOD Indycar drivers. It’s finally time to go racing. Enough of the silly offseason which saw an interesting game of musical chairs, announcement of IZOD as the Indycar Series sponsor, new leadership and the release of possible chassis designs for 2012 (which if the DeltaWing [...]

IndyCar 2012
Despite the date being moved back several times, IndyCar appears to finally be moving forward towards its goal of a new chassis and engine formula, now expected for the 2012 season. We’ll discuss the potential engine options later – for now, let’s focus on the chassis designs. Over the last few days, the 4 manufacturers bidding for the design have released their concepts. Below are descriptions and some notes of each. One thing to note [...]
