Burnes made his first Arizona appearance since June 1, 2025 on 9/8, throwing three scoreless innings in an 11-inning win at Kansas City. Gallen and Michael Soroka were both activated 9/9.

Henry Bolte's solo home run was the only run support in the shutout. Separately, LHP Jose Suarez was released 9/8 after allowing 15 runs across his final 6.1 innings.

Elder had bone fragments removed from his right knee on 9/8 and is out for the rest of the regular season, with hopes to return in the postseason. Reynaldo Lopez was activated to fill the rotation spot; Bailey Falter, acquired in an August trade with Kansas City, was selected from Gwinnett and threw two scoreless innings in his Braves debut. Elieser Hernandez was designated for assignment.

Alexander (.303, 4 HR, 31 RBI) left Tuesday's loss to Cleveland with lower-back spasms that hadn't resolved by Wednesday. Baltimore recalled infielder Jeremiah Jackson from Triple-A Norfolk to restore infield depth alongside Gunnar Henderson and Jackson Holliday.

Houck threw 20 pitches over one inning for Double-A Portland on 9/8, his first game action since Tommy John surgery in August 2025; fastball sat 92-95 mph. Plan is a second Portland outing Friday before moving to Triple-A Worcester.

Chicago trailed 8-1 before a five-run ninth, highlighted by Michael Conforto's two-run double, fell short in an 8-6 loss. Kevin Gausman allowed seven runs (six earned) over four innings. Pete Crow-Armstrong needs five more stolen bases in the final stretch to join the 40-40 club.

Chicago placed RHP Tyler Davis on the bereavement list and recalled LHP Chris Murphy from Triple-A Charlotte ahead of continuing the series against Pittsburgh at home.

Cincinnati was routed in Los Angeles as it closed out a lost road trip. Separately, LHP Sam Moll was released.

Cleveland lost 9-5 after allowing eight runs in the third inning; DeLauter, back from a wrist sprain, hit a home run in his return to the lineup.

Colorado remains well out of postseason position. LHPs Jose Quintana and Kyle Freeland both began rehab assignments at Double-A Hartford.

Detroit beat Minnesota 7-2, ending a seven-series winless stretch. Perez was placed on the 10-day IL after being struck in the face by a plyometric band during a weight-room session; Detroit is expected to recall infield prospect Trei Cruz from Toledo for his major-league debut.

Houston led 6-4 before Philadelphia scored six runs in the sixth inning, capped by Kyle Schwarber's MLB-leading 44th home run, a grand slam, and a Trea Turner homer.

Kansas City improved to 65-82. RHP James McArthur began a rehab assignment with Double-A NW Arkansas as the club manages its bullpen down the stretch.

Zach Neto hit a three-run homer over the Green Monster and Jose Siri added a two-run shot as Los Angeles beat Boston 6-4, taking two of three in the series.

The move is retroactive to September 7; Ohtani will miss at least the Dodgers' upcoming East Coast trip, with an earliest return around September 22-23. Los Angeles called up No. 6 overall prospect Josue De Paula directly from Double-A Tulsa to fill the roster spot -- an unprecedented direct-to-majors jump for the organization since Andrew Friedman took over as president of baseball operations in 2015.

Los Angeles improved to 89-57, an 11.5-game division lead. Yoshinobu Yamamoto struck out 10 over seven innings, his fifth straight start with eight or more strikeouts. Roki Sasaki (finger blister) is targeting a return no earlier than September 11.

Fairbanks (right median nerve irritation, sidelined since Aug. 25) was reinstated ahead of the 9/9 finale against the Mets; it's the second time in 2026 the same issue has forced him out.

Martin (hamstring strain since Aug. 17) started a rehab assignment at Triple-A St. Paul after Minnesota's 7-2 loss at Detroit dropped it to 6.5 games back.

Baty, in the middle of a six-game hitting streak, left in the second inning after an RBI single and visibly limping to first. Interim manager Andy Green said he thought Baty would be okay; formal status had not been announced as of this run.

Chisholm sprained his thumb sliding into second Tuesday against Colorado; he's barred from baseball activities for 7-10 days and could miss the rest of the regular season. New York recalled Anthony Volpe, who was hitting .440 in September for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, after he had lost his shortstop job to rookie George Lombard Jr.

Bohm's law firm confirmed the financial-mismanagement civil suit against his parents was settled out of court on September 4 with confidential terms, and asked that the family's privacy be respected. No new legal action has been filed.

San Diego beat Washington 9-2 behind Jackson Merrill's two home runs and six RBI. Manny Machado passed Garry Templeton for sole possession of second place on the franchise's all-time hits list.

Anderson (22) went six innings, allowing one run on six hits with five strikeouts, backed by Cole Young's two-run double and Andres Munoz's 26th save. Separately, Seattle reinstated Victor Robles and Hoby Milner from the Family/Medical Emergency list; Stuart Fairchild was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

San Francisco scored six runs in the eighth inning, capped by Shay Whitcomb's go-ahead RBI after Jung Hoo Lee's tying double, to beat St. Louis 7-6. Rafael Devers was given a rest day after playing all 146 games to that point.

Winn (left thumb fracture, missed 15 games) was activated and back at shortstop; Prieto, batting .063 in 14 MLB games this season, was optioned to Memphis.

Walls, who leads MLB with 21 fielding runs above average at shortstop, went on the 10-day IL retroactive to 9/6. Tampa Bay selected the contract of Nick Madrigal, hitting .318 at Triple-A Durham since being claimed off waivers in June, to fill the roster spot.

Jung (calf strain, on the IL since July 22) went 2-for-5 with an RBI in his rehab opener at Round Rock, then homered the next day. Round Rock's season ends 9/20, putting Jung on track to return before the regular season closes.

Santander started a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on 9/9, recovering from February shoulder-labrum surgery that has limited him to 59 games over parts of two seasons on his 5-year, $92.5M deal. He'll start at DH before moving to the outfield, with activation targeted for late September.

Washington set an MLB single-season record with its 38th blown save in the middle game of the series. Manager Blake Butera was ejected in the finale arguing a check-swing call that preceded San Diego's go-ahead run.
